We Growth marketers must have over the years seen a lot of channels blossom giving massive ROI for our efforts. But now it’s the time to think ahead and visualize what’s in it for us in 2020?
Which would be the ultimate growth gold mine to crack? And how do we go about doing all these?
We have compiled our folk’s discussion on ‘One marketing Channel that would be a game-changer next year’. Here are some great insights into what could actually go into our growth efforts in 2020.
First, let’s segregate the channels according to their use-case!
- Tik Tok
There has been a lot of recommendations for Tik Tok from our GrowthFolks. Being barely a year old, it seems that brands and agencies have at last figured out what the growth of the platform actually is and how they might be able to tap into it. Our fellow Growth folk Adi Suja adds on to this by backing the organic reach of Tik Tok to be better than the initial stages of Facebook and Linkedin.
Hands down we could affirm that LinkedIn has been one of the best platforms when it comes to B2B growth, but it has been very much underutilized when it comes to performance perspective says our fellow Folk Rishab Rastogi. Marvin Diaz looks at LinkedIn to be the go-to strategy for lead generation as well as client relationship management.
With IGTV and in-house eCommerce options slowly evolving we could see some changes in direction to better steer and steady the B2C scope of Instagram. Meanwhile, with features like contact details, booking, and maps for outreach, Story highlights, and posts for branding, Instagram is trying to be a full-fledged customer experience platform.
With a lot of us betting for Whatsapp ads to take the B2C world by storm, it’s pretty much clear that the B2C segment is going to go to a whole new level in terms of the personalization. One other thing that is becoming quite clear is that Facebook is transforming Whatsapp to not just display ads but to communicate with businesses as well.

With Gen’z slowly entering the market it would be ideal for brands to start concentrating on visual storytelling for their growth through their ad platform. The advertising revenue is increasing massively year on year suggesting that more marketers have started using it for their campaigns.

Harit Rathi has his take on Snapchat.
We have seen that over the last few years communities have played a major role in the buyer’s journey. One of the reasons I would suggest is because of the personalization that goes along when you are part of a community. As Harit says, we are in our initial stages of the community era but it is a bit harder to monetize the efforts in the initial stage without which the long term stability is in deep concern.
Paras Pundir [ The Community Guy ] on the other hand, believes that communities are still un-explored and are not utilized as per their capability and is bets heavily on communities being one of the game-changer in 2020 and years to come.

As you predict, 2020 is the year where marketing actually gets disrupted and people would want to try new platforms because they could reap more benefits. The question is if your target audience migrates to an entirely different platform, will you be there to engage them?
